Climate Fund
iSustain score 60

The Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in the Americas (C2F) aims to catalyze private-sector investments in projects that will help economies in Latin America and the Caribbean become less carbon-intensive, more climate-resilient, and more inclusive. By providing concessional finance to projects without sovereign guarantees, C2F seeks to bridge financing gaps, with special attention, where possible, to the poorest and most vulnerable countries. C2F forms a strategic platform to mobilize private sector investment for climate mitigation and adaptation across Latin America and the Caribbean. C2F focuses on priority areas such as renewable energy generation and storage, sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, climate-smart agriculture, and nature-based solutions. By offering concessional financing alongside IDB Invest capital to test, replicate and scale innovative business models and technologies with tailored financial solutions, C2F enables the development of innovative, high-impact projects that support the Sustainable Development Goals. With a strong cross-cutting commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion, C2F aims to ensure equitable participation and benefits across all interventions. This plays a critical role in supporting the region’s transition toward low-carbon, sustainable, and climate-resilient economies, while fostering inclusive economic development.
