CIF – Renewable Energy Integration Program

Climate Fund
iSustain score 55

The CIF - Renewable Energy Integration (REI) Program is a pioneering initiative designed to help developing and emerging economies transition to clean energy by overcoming the technical and financial barriers to integrating renewable energy into their national power systems. The program is the world’s only climate finance program fully dedicated to upgrading and adapting national energy systems to support large-scale deployment of renewable energy. It focuses on grid modernization to handle intermittent sources, such as solar and wind, energy storage solutions to balance supply and demand, and policy and infrastructure updates to enable clean energy delivery where and when needed. The program helps countries: Absorb new sources of intermittent renewable energy. Manage advanced and flexible grids. Balance infrastructure needs. Improve overall energy system operations.
