GEAPP Energy Access and Transition Trust Fund (GEATTF)
Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) Energy Access and Transition Trust Fund (GEATTF) is a single-partner trust fund established in 2023 under the Innovative Finance Facility for Climate in Asia and the Pacific Financing Partnership Facility (IF-CAP). It aims to accelerate and scale inclusive energy access for poor and vulnerable populations. One of the key objectives of the fund is to support an equitable transition to clean energy across developing and emerging economies in developing member countries. The fund will support projects, activities, and investments that are aligned with the following objectives: Catalyze affordable and reliable clean energy access for poor and vulnerable populations without access, by sourcing and de-risking scalable innovative distributed renewable energy (DRE) and energy transition solutions, and through support for enhanced grid capacity, through the public and private sector, in frontier and emerging markets; Help DMCs develop and enact policy and regulatory measures to accelerate increased investment in DRE, energy transition and other related projects; Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by supporting DRE and energy transition projects, including projects that accelerate the retirement of coal-fired power plants, to increase the share of clean energy and support green recovery that improves energy access for unserved and underserved communities; Leverage blending of concessional instruments to crowd-in additional investm
