The Green Guarantee Company (GGC)

Climate Fund
iSustain score 75

The vast majority of institutional capital in developed capital markets is only available to investment grade borrowers. The Green Guarantee Company is tackling the issue of emerging market countries often being rated below investment grade by international credit rating agencies Moody’s, Standard and Poor’s and Fitch. By providing investment grade guarantees to improve the credit rating of borrowers in emerging markets, the Green Guarantee Company will unlock larger pools of capital to finance climate adaption and mitigation projects.
