Funders active in East Africa

East Africa has the deepest funder presence on the continent outside South Africa, particularly in off-grid energy, climate-smart agriculture and water. That depth is an advantage and a trap: the same well-known windows are heavily oversubscribed while regional and donor-country facilities go under-used.

These funders have an active mandate covering East Africa, either regionally or as part of a Sub-Saharan or pan-African programme.
